You are at the archive edition to: Energy Healers Association > Tik Addiction Treatment in Cape Town – Eighth Successful Session

Archive for month of December, 2010

This is the eighth in a series of articles about one brave person´s journey of recovery from methamphetamine, or tik, as it is known in South Africa. The purpose is to educate and inform about the effective new energy healing choices available to recovering addicts and all who help them.

Yasmin’s eighth session started with a mixture of good news and bad news. The good news is that she had managed four clear days after a small hiccup where she had encountered another addict who offered her a toke of their pipe. The bad news is that she had been too trusting of her ex and a friend, who owed her money that was still outstanding, so much so that she had to go without food last weekend. This is a great source of stress to Yasmin, as she is on a low pay to start with, and the added pressure at the beginning of the month is strong enough to send many ex-addicts-to-be right back to full-on addiction, buying drugs on credit from the dealer, with grave consequences all around.

We only had some fifteen minutes available, as Yasmin was on a short break from work. I concentrated on tapping (doing EFT) on Yasmin as she processed what had happened and her current predicament. With only three minutes left, I then felt her aura and gave her Reiki on the areas that were heavily unbalanced. The aura, put simply, is the electromagnetic field of the body. It can be felt by a skilled healer. Areas that feel very different usually indicate a problem, an energy disruption. I treated her as quickly as possible, using Seichem Reiki, NLP, and positive visualisations, until those areas felt better. It was a gentle way of wrapping up the session. Then she got up and I explained that she had to tap (do EFT) every day for negative emotions experienced that day, as this was a challenging stress situation that required diligent emotional management. I gave her a chart to fill out with the emotion released each day. This encourages people to do the tapping. I also gave her a chart to fill in for the number of clear days, with a challenge of having seven clear days or more this time.

Often, people who are attracted to drug addiction tend to be too trusting, compulsive, and do not have clear boundaries. Hence Yasmin’s current financial situation. Somewhere in her upbringing, clear boundaries were not taught, and so she was not prepared for saying no to the friends who now owe her more than she can bear. She had previously explained to me her family history, where her parents did not get the parenting and care they needed and so did not know how to parent and teach their children. Yasmin continued to have more successful days after this session, so despite the circumstances, she has not caved in as of the time of writing. She continues to tap daily and is managing the situation.

EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques. It involves literally tapping with the fingers on special acupressure points whilst repeating special phrases designed to release the root causes of unwanted feelings and behavior.
