Cape Town Reiki Master Healer On Giving Psychic Information

I have been asked if I communicate psychic information to my Reiki Clients. This is an interesting question. I was taught Reiki pretty much in the traditional way, where you lay your hands on and do not say anything necessarily. And then I was encouraged to ask the client to be more active in their healing process if they choose to, for example as in the Seichem Reiki or Tera-Mai Reiki manual, when you are doing the emotional healing on the Solar Plexus, if you feel a heaviness still there at the end, to ask the client to push it out into your hand. I also attended further training where if feeling something ¨wrong¨ in the aura, we were encouraged to say to the client ¨What does it feel like just here?¨ – and then react according to the client´s reply. For example, if the client says they feel a blockage, heaviness, tightness, etc in that spot, to engage them in its healing. For example, you can ask the client to let the energy disruption dissolve into your hand just there, breathe it out into your hand, or visualize it calmly and safely dissipating and leaving their body.
As I got more experienced, I learned not to say anything that involves visualization to a person with schizophrenia or psychosis, as it could turn into a negative loop of thought that goes on and on way after the treatment. In other words, it could be counter-productive. Of course, you may well know someone with schizophrenia who thrives on this information and , but as a safety measure, I generally do not say anything during a treatment if someone has schizophrenia or psychosis, or if I suspect they might do. Another exception is clients who have expressed an interest in a non-talking treatment. I find that out at the beginning, when I fill in the client intake form, and I show my pupils how to do that when they come for their Reiki Second Degree. Also, common sense comes into play here. If a client had specifically asked to be engaged in the treatment but was fast asleep in deep relaxation, I do not deliberately wake them up to tell them something. I let them carry on sleeping instead, and may tell them later, after the treatment has finished.
In some countries, there are also laws about mediumship and fortune-telling that restrict the information a Reiki healer can give to a client, unless she or he is a registered medium or psychic as well. This is the case in the UK but not South Africa, as far as I know. I do see a benefit in being a trained psychic if you regularly get messages or images from Spirit and wish to pass them on. Here again, common sense is a good guide. For example, if you see a potentially frightening message, you may wish to dilute it or not communicate it at all. If you see someone who is in spirit, and the healee does not believe in life after death, it is best not to say anything. After all, one could be mistaken; no psychic is 100 percent accurate.
So, to answer the question, do I talk to my Reiki clients during the session, the answer is that it depends on all the above. I find that in South Africa, more people ask me to talk to them during the treatment than in the UK. Whether this is due to local matters or because I am asking every client when I first take their details, I am not sure. I suspect it is the latter, in which case, it is good practice to ask every new client.
